Global Underground is a series of electronic music compilation albums. The Global Underground series were realized by several DJs in the most exotic clubbing locations on Earth. Each set has been released in 2 CD format. The preponderant style is progressive house, but there were also house, trance and breakbeat releases. What is interesting about the Global Underground series is the set of characteristics in almost every album:

• Each album being mixed by a globe-trotting DJ.
• The prominent influence of the location on the music and packaging.
• Extensive sleeve notes describing local clubbing scene and/or venue often written by Mixmag Editor Dom Philips.
• Each album has two discs.
• The song list is edited from the complete set based on a retrospective view of the performance.
